2002 JUL 9 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- New data indicates that prostate cancer patients who have had radical prostatectomy benefit significantly from early hormonal therapy.
Hormonal therapy given for prostate specific antigen (PSA)-only recurrence prior to objective progression significantly extends progression-free survival. The results are based on data in high-risk patients from the Department of Defense (DoD) Center for Prostate Disease Research (CPDR) and were presented at the American Urological Association's annual meeting in Orlando, Florida.
