ABBOTT PARK, Ill. -- Abbott Laboratories has been named to FORTUNE magazine's annual list of the "50 Best Companies for Minorities," rising in the rankings to 35th from 45th in 2001. Abbott is one of only two Illinois-based companies to be ranked each year since FORTUNE began the list in 1998 and the only health care company to be named to this year's list.
