What kind of person shells out hundreds of dollars to commission a hand-painted portrait of a pet?
``Well,'' says Golden dog owner Linda Hufnagel, who recently did just that, ``I'm the kind of person who talks to pet communicators, too. It is the true and absolute dedicated dog lover who does this.''
Hufnagel recently commissioned artist Ti Tolpo Bader, of Grant, to paint her Tibetan terrier, Toby, both as a puppy and as an adult in front of a backdrop of Colorado and Himalayan mountains. That $1,000 portrait now hangs in Hufnagel's bedroom, ``so I can see it every morning when I wake up,'' she explains.
