LIVERPOOL'S international food festival has been cancelled because of a lack of sponsorship.
The festival has been scrapped in only its second year after organisers failed to raise the pounds 15,000 required to stage the week long programme of events.
Last year's festival was a celebrated success, earning glowing reviews in national newspapers and food magazines.
Festival organisers, ACL Events Management, raised pounds 5,000 but failed to secure a headline sponsor or a grant from the National Lottery Community Fund.
