Cubans soon could be seen munching on Empires, Red Romes, McIntoshes and Cortlands straight from New York state.
Jim Allen, president of the New York Apple Association, said New York's apple growers recently received clearance from the Cuban government to ship to the communist island nation.
"Cuba is an exciting new market that we hope will soon become a leading export destination for our apples," Allen said.
