Best Viewing Distance for Photographers
At what distance should a photograph be seen for best viewing? When you look at a wide-angle shot of your modest living room does it appear to be a ballroom? How far and in what position from the screen is the best seat in a movie theater? What is the best distance from the TV screen when watching your favorite program? What is the "normal" focal length for a camera lens? These and many similar questions are raised by those who are even moderately serious about photography. And the answers are becoming less distinct now that we are all using zoom lenses on our cameras and projectors.
