Last month CVS Corp. and Rite Aid Corp., two of America's largest and most successful drug chains, each announced that they would no longer fill prescriptions for several major health care plans, calling those plans' reimbursement levels unacceptably low. CVS will sever its relationships with ChoiceCare of Cincinnati and Health Insurance Plan of Greater New York (HIP), while Rite Aid made a similar decision regarding Independent Blue Cross of Philadelphia and ChoiceCare.
