EuriLait has declared its aim to become the main supplier of goats cheese to the flourishing UK market.

The company is the UK subsidiary of the Eurial Poitouraine group, based in the Poitou-Charentes region of France, and currently has 18% of British sales, and 40% of imported goats cheese (the figures include foodservice).

UK consumption of goats cheese is 3,000t compared to entire cheese consumption of 550,000t (household and industrial), but the sector is becoming one of the bigger niches, with rising interest from the multiples.
