One of the most productive animals on the homestead, pound for pound, is the rabbit. A good doe can produce six to eight kits (babies) every two months. As fryers those will weigh four to five pounds each which roughly gives you 30-40 pounds of meat six times a year.
For starters decide exactly what you want to do with your rabbits. Do you want to use them for meat, or fur, or show, extra farm income or just because you like them? If you just like keeping rabbits and don't want to use them for meat you can use smaller breeds. A good program "can" give you several of the above. The breed I have found that works best ...
