Jul. 9--SANTA FE, N.M.--A recently released study shows what local art officials say they have known all along: The nonprofit arts industry is a major economic force in Santa Fe.
The study conducted by Americans for the Arts found that Santa Fe's nonprofit arts organizations produced $222 million in economic activity during the 2000-2001 year.
It also found that Santa Fe ranked 12th out of 91 communities that participated.
