Midwestern firm nears deal to buy local brokerage
The San Diego office of J.T. Moran & Co. Inc. probably will be sold to A.G. Edwards & Sons Inc. in the next few days, a local Moran officer said.
The deal with the St. Louis-based brokerage was about 80 percent complete last week, said Tim Cronin, regional vice president for J.T. Moran, a national brokerage.
It's up to A.G. Edwards to decide if the deal is consummated, Cronin said. The price of the branch still is being negotiated.
A.G. Edwards spokeswoman Susan Kerth would not confirm that her company was interested in purchasing the branch.
