Radical stuff came from the mouths and minds of the 300 men and women who gathered in Seneca Falls, N.Y., 150 years ago this month. They declared that men and women are created equal. They said women deserve equal treatment by government and equal opportunity in society. They gave birth to a crusade for women's rights that continues to this day.

In Minneapolis, something almost as radical within the realm of classical music will take place Thursday. The Minnesota Orchestra will perform an entire evening program of music composed by women, conducted by a woman, in commemoration of the women's movement that started in Seneca Falls.
