Pulling up stakes
By coincidence, the A section of the Sept. 14 Star Tribune took the pulse of Minneapolis' general health (St. Paul was discussed on Monday) while the B section featured the annual Parade of Homes (747 new homes, but only one in Minneapolis, none in St. Paul). This startling statistic would seem to indicate that new home buyers feel the patient is gravely ill with a communicable disease and want to get as far away as possible.
As part of the discussion, members of the local citizenry were asked to submit their prognoses. Their comments ranged from "A healthy patient" (Mike Freeman, Hennepin County attorney), to "A bleak future" (former ...
