OAKWOOD, Ga. -- Wayne Farms LLC, the nation's sixth largest fully integrated poultry producer, and the United States Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Research Service (USDA-ARS), have co-developed Mucosal Starter Culture (MSC(TM)), a new competitive exclusion method that has been proven more effective than other approaches in reducing the incident rate of Salmonella in chickens.
Wayne Farms and USDA-ARS's MSC(TM) is a live, undefined culture that includes a full range of intestinal microflora, instead of relying on a few strains of specifically selected bacteria.
