The Gang of 3 Hits New York For Couture Day
NEW YORK -- Although the Mayor didn't proclaim it, Wednesday was Couture Day in New York as Karl Lagerfeld, Christian Lacroix and Gianni Versace came to town for the Fashion Group's fall couture shows.
Lagerfeld, who lost 10 pounds by staying home and resting, thinks others might become a little thinner, too. "There may be a kind of recession, but that could be good because everyone has to make an effort," he says.
Lacroix was concerned with the Persian Gulf and the effect of the crisis on fashion: "A tougher time always brings about the most daring creations."
