Grain and oilseed futures at the Winnipeg Commodity Exchange finished Friday's session mixed with canola at fresh contract highs and feed grains modestly lower. Canola was lifted by weather stress as conditions have turned hot while the feed grains were undermined by losses in Chicago Board Of Trade grain futures, brokers said.
Canola futures surged to fresh contract highs in moderate trade. Commercial and commission house buying absorbed increased hedge selling and profit taking by commercials. Light Japanese pricing was also evident in the market. The selling was on a scale up which contributed to the firm tone.
