Research in materials handling: outlook grim?
What is the state of materials handling research in America today? The picture is not pretty, say the country's top materials handling researchers. They gathered together to discuss this question.
The 1990 Material Handling Research Colloquium, held in northern Kentucky in late June, included nearly thirty of the top academic researchers from the U.S., along with two researchers from Canada, and one from Puerto Rico.
While the spirit of the meeting was upbeat, some of the observations concerning the state of materials handling research in the U.S. were decidedly glum.
