Art Liddle's editorial "CAD... gobbling up jobs, one at a time (May 2002, p. 6)," reminded me of an engineering professor I had in 1954. He predicted that in ten years grass would be growing in the cracks of the new Interstate superhighways because everyone would be flying helicopters.
There used to be a lot of talk about artificial intelligence. I don't read much about that anymore.
I am with a structural engineering firm that works with many architects. We have difficulty establishing a library of details because each architect does things differently. Often the same firm does each project differently.
