Cole-Haan, Nike team on comfort collection
YARMOUTH, Maine -- Cole-Haan executives last week introduced one of the first lines of high-priced dress and casual shoes for men and women featuring advanced comfort technology, a move anticipated by the industry since the firm was acquired by Nike Inc., Beaverton, Ore., nearly two years ago.
Called Tensile Air, Cole-Haan's new line is expected in the first year to account for 5-10 percent of the $100-million company's sales once it becomes available at retail in October, Cole-Haan president George Denney said last Wednesday in New York at a press conference attended by top executives from both firms.
