VICTORVILLE - The Roy Rogers-Dale Evans Museum, which has attracted thousands of visitors to its site next to Interstate 15 for 26 years, is closing and the exhibits will be moved to Branson, Mo., city officials said Saturday.
The news comes after years of speculation that the museum would move because attendance fell off drastically after Rogers died in 1998 at the age of 86. For many years, visitors could greet the cowboy star in the museum.
Although son Roy ``Dusty'' Rogers Jr. would not confirm the sale Saturday, city spokeswoman Yvonne Hester said the city was informed of the sale late Friday.
