Former Cayuga County Sheriff Peter J. Pinckney will likely plead guilty to some or all of the three felony charges against him today in Cayuga County Court.
Pinckney, who resigned in December after serving more than a decade in office, intends to enter his plea at a 3 p.m. disposition hearing, said a source close to the case who asked not to be identified.
Pinckney, 57, of Fleming, was accused of stealing $4,000 from one of his department's confidential drugs funds, money earmarked for drug investigations. He is also accused of using his position of authority to have county employees, while on the county payroll, do ...
