THE live auction system and the integrity of movement traceability is in jeopardy if the 20-day standstill continues into the autumn sale period, the National Beef Association has warned.
It claims the 20-day lock up forced on farms buying incoming stock has already persuaded hundreds of farmers, who previously used markets, to trade stock privately instead.
