All that is visible of The Garden House is what appears to be a humble lemon-coloured cottage with a double garage twice its size. Not the usual sort of grand period edifice one associates with The Park, a private estate formerly owned by the Duke of Newcastle.
But, as owners Julia King and her husband Colin Brown discovered, appearances can be deceptive.
