The Washington Post this week reports Bruce Arena, coach of the U.S. National team that did so well in the World Cup, said there is "a good chance" he will return to the same position to prepare the team for the 2006 World Cup in Germany.
Negotiations have already begun between Arena and the United States Soccer Federation.
Contracts for national team coaches usually run through the end of a World Cup season, as Arena's does.
Arena said the World Cup showing, advancing to the quarterfinals, is a pure addition to the soccer picture in the United States.
