WASHINGTON--Hoping the wireless industry can come up with its own solution to interference in the 800 MHz band, the Federal Communications Commission has given parties one more month to file reply comments. Previously, comments were due today.

"I think we can get something done in the next 30 days [but] there are a lot of details that ultimately have to be hashed out. ... [The FCC] they are very much in favor of us reaching an industry compromise, said Laura Smith, president of the Industrial Telecommunications Association.
