The first few pages of Jerry West's new story ended as his Memphis Grizzlies finished their play at the Summer Pro League.
As the team's new president of basketball operations, West analyzed his team's performance and wasn't exactly overflowing with optimism.
``We don't have a very good summer-league team,'' West said. ``We got a terrific rookie (in Drew Gooden), who's going to be a hell of a player. The most important thing that we can get out of this is trying to get him experience. But from a win-loss standpoint, it didn't look good.''
