WASHINGTON -- The pro-life cause registered a significant victory late Thursday when, on a unanimous consent vote, the Senate unexpectedly passed the Born-Alive Infants Protection Act. In other news, a personnel shuffle at the White House over its approach to HIV/AIDS policy, has pro-family conservatives concerned about whether the President's policies are being implemented.
Family Research Council President Ken Connor said the passage of the Born- Alive Infants Protection Act "is a vindication for Jill Stanek, the courageous obstetrics nurse who first blew the whistle on the so-called 'live-birth abortion' procedure at Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, Ill."
