Bar code scanner replaces data entry without a decoder.

Hewlett-Packard has introduced the HP KeyWand bar code scanner, a fully integrated wand that provides keyboard emulation for the IBM PS/2, and the PC, PC/XT, and PC/AT personal computers.

The HP KeyWand bar code scanner, designed for OEMS, system integrators, and VARS, replaces manual-keyboard data entry with accurate bar code scanning, according to the company. Applications for the bar code scanner include factory floor data collection, inventory control, document tracking, and point-of-sale retail data input.
