Jul. 20--JUDGE OKS BID FOR PHAR-MOR: A federal bankruptcy judge has approved the $142 million bid for the assets of the Phar-Mor discount drugstore chain, paving the way for going-out-of-business sales at the company's 73 stores. Youngstown-based Phar-Mor, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in September, had been trying to reorganize and stay in business, but last month decided to liquidate instead. The winning bid was made by two liquidation companies, and plus the O'Hara-based Giant Eagle and CVS drugstore chains, which essentially are divvying up customer prescription lists.
