DOWNTOWN L.A. -- Maybe it was the fact that "Rodeo Drive" kids' togs were sold in J.C. Penney and K Mart, of all places, that made the real Rodeo Drive merchants angry.

Now the subject of the merchants' wrath wants to get even.

A garment district manufacturer of inexpensive children's clothing has filed a $5 million suit against The Rodeo Drive Committee after it failed to prevent him from using the brand name "Rodeo Drive California."

Sidney Fell, owner of California Infanteen Togs Manufacturing Co., was awarded $190,000 in attorney's fees and court costs.
