Networks To Realign on Next Generation Birds
When the cable networks move to the next generation of C-band satellites starting in 1992, Hughes Communications and GE Americom will share more equally in the distribution of services as the major networks split up as anchors on birds in each of the two fleets.
At present, the Hughes Galaxy I and III satellites carry 26 basic and premium services while the GE Satcom birds relay signals for 10 important cable networks.
