THE 100 MOST INFLUENTIAL BLACK AMERICANS
EBONY's 1990 list of "The 100 Most Influential Black Americans" includes a broad spectrum of powerholders who represent the variety of organizations and opinions maintained in the Black community.
In the past, readers have asked why certain persons were on the list while others were omitted. The answer is that selection is based on an evaluation of large amounts of information gathered from peers, powerbrokers and other arbiters of taste and trends. Selection, therefore, is not necessarily a personal endorsement. It is rather an attempt to give an objective assessment of the fluid and ever-changing power ...
