MAHWAH, N.J. -- Sharp Electronics Corp. is pleased to announce that it ranks number one in U.S. digital copier sales, according to a report recently released by International Data Corporation (IDC), a leading information-technology research firm. Sharp accounted for 18.7 % of all digital copiers sold in the United States in 2001. Former industry leader Xerox Corporation ranked second in the IDC report, while Canon earned third- place consideration and Ricoh placed fourth.
