As in so many cases, three's the charm for organizers of this year's Madison Early Music Festival.
After two years of uneven stops and starts, visiting and host performers capped the weeklong annual event with an All-Festival Concert shimmering in its blend of musical history and aural beauty, the likes of which even seasoned concertgoers rarely hear.
Only about 200 people turned out for the Mills Hall performance Friday, but the point was made: The UW School of Music's Madison Early Music Festival has arrived.
