IT is a picture that reflects changing times - and attitudes - within the police service.
The officers shown here are from countries as diverse as Afghanistan, Thailand, Lebanon, Hong Kong, Tanzania and Nigeria.
Yet it was only in 1967 that Scotland Yard recruited its first black policeman, Norwell Roberts, who endured terrible racism in his early career.
Now, as this exclusive picture of Yard employees shows, forces are beginning to reflect the racial mix of the community they serve.
In the Met's case that means having 25 per cent of its officers and staff from ethnic minorities by 2010.
