As it continues a significant expansion of its private label product offerings, Berner Foods is focusing more than ever on quality and what it calls the "pursuit of perfection." The family-owned 58-year-old business has turned more than a few corners since changing its name from Berner Cheese last year. The name change reflects the recent configuration of the Berner process foods facility to include retort technology. This has allowed the Dakota, 111.-based company to expand its offerings into many new sauces and spreads that are not necessarily cheese-based.
