The three themes of this volume are linked to the areas in which Jean-Claude Faucon has done important research: he has published an edition of the Chanson de Du Guesclin, he has worked on journeys such as pilgrimages and the travels of Marco Polo, and on an edition and translation of the Prose Tristan. Strangely in a book such as this, there is no list of his publications.
