PASADENA, Calif. _ This is true. "The Daily Show With Jon Stewart" has been picked up by CNN for distribution to more than 200 countries. A separate edition, called "The Daily Show: Global Edition," will begin beaming to the world's teeming masses later this year.
"And contrary to some press reports," Comedy Central executive vice president and general manager Bill Hilary told TV critics here in California, "Comedy Central and `The Daily Show' will have complete editorial control." Pause for effect. "Read between the lines on that one."
So, maybe CNN won't pass along everything Stewart says about Saddam Hussein to restless Iraqis. But 200 countries. Ted ...
