St. Ives Cleveland, a large commercial printer in Cuyahoga Heights, expects its new $2.2 million sheet-fed press to produce sales gains this year in an otherwise slow market.
The new press will become operational next month. It will replace an older, sheet-fed press that lacks the automated features and time-saving capabilities of the new model, said St. Ives executive vice president Gary Davis.
Mr. Davis said the press, which is made by German press builder Man Roland, has 20% more production capacity than the soon-to-be-retired press. It also includes computer-controlled color monitoring to ensure uniform quality.
