Even though Massachusetts residents are among the most fit in the nation, more than half of Bay Staters are still considered fat, says a disturbing new report.
The Department of Public Health report said that 64 percent of men and 42 percent of women in the state are overweight.
On top of that, it said 17 percent of all Bay State adults are obese, with little difference between men and women.
"This challenge is literally and figuratively a growing concern," said Dr. Howard Koh, commissioner of public health.
