Activists in Wisconsin are warning that if the U.S. Senate approves a plan to store the nation's nuclear waste in the Nevada desert, northern Wisconsin could become home to a similar site in coming decades.
Critics of the Bush administration's plan to bury radioactive waste at Nevada's Yucca Mountain say the facility will run out of space in a few decades, forcing the federal government to find new locations to store thousands of tons of spent nuclear fuel.
