Jul. 25--Murphy Oil Corp. announced Thursday that net income in the second quarter was $14 million, down from $95 million before a special item in the second quarter a year ago.
A 30 percent decline in North American natural gas prices and higher exploration expense were the primary reasons for the earnings decline.
