Symyx Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:SMMX) today reported financial results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2002.
Revenue for the quarter was $14.0 million, a decrease of 9% compared to $15.4 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2001. This decrease is primarily related to the decrease in collaboration revenue from $10.6 million in the second quarter of last year to $9.4 million for the second quarter of 2002, primarily due to the conclusion last year of the recognition of technology access fees paid under 1999 Bayer and Dow collaboration contracts.
