"During the last decade and leading into the 21st century, Danbury's economic climate has been strong," said the city's Republican mayor, Mark Boughton. "We have one of the lowest unemployment rates in New England at 2.3 percent, our permit center is booming with new applications, we're having a housing boom. Things are generally rosy for the area."
One reason, said George Walker, vice president of marketing and development for the Berkshire Corporate Park, is the wide diversity of business and industry in Danbury and its suburbs.
