Three men have been charged with stealing more than $1,000 worth of beer and other beverages from the walk-in cooler at the East Syracuse Fire Department's Loomis Field.
One of the accused was a member of the volunteer fire department, police said. Most of the stolen beer was consumed Tuesday at an outdoor party, police said.
The theft occurred between 2 and 3 a.m. Sunday after the fire department's annual field days ended, said East Syracuse Police Sgt. Michael Regan. It was discovered later in the morning when a member of the fire department went to the Hartwell Avenue field to continue cleaning up after the ...
