Bar codes: aid to error-free shipping
Working with trade associations - mainly groups of wholesaler/distributors in businesses such as plumbing, heating, electrical products, and fasteners - reveals a lot about the distribution end of business. Distributors really must have bar codes to be able to control inventories and, consequently, to hold down their costs. These businessmen cannot rely on large profit margins. They must exist on their ability to get the right product to the right customer, for the right cost at the right time.
