TWO TRENDS are emerging in benefits communications. Firstly, the initial enthusiasm for IT as the main communication medium has evolved into a more mature attitude which sees the most appropriate role for IT in an administration capacity rather than as a tool for flashy frontline campaigns. Secondly, when making changes to benefits, employers are trying to develop a greater balance between promotional material and education.
