Jul. 27--WASHINGTON--A Houston-based Merrill Lynch & Co. executive who served as the firm's chief liaison with Enron Corp. was placed on administrative leave Friday for refusing to testify at an upcoming Senate hearing.
Lawmakers on the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations had hoped to quiz Schuyler Tilney, 46, managing director of Merrill Lynch's Global Energy and Power group, about his involvement with Enron's now-infamous, off-the-books partnerships.
