The US construction industry is changing very fast. It's easy to forget that LEED 2.0 (complete with new reference guide) has only been around for two years. In that time, registrations for LEED have grown to more than 400 projects, totaling about 70 million square feet of constructed area. As shown in Table 1, LEED has achieved a market penetration of nearly 3% of new commercial construction, with significantly higher penetration in certain sub-markets.
