Jul. 29--Thirty-seven IBM Corp. divisions employ workers and operate at the computer giant's complex in Rochester. Their managers typically run their own businesses and report far up the corporate ladder to executives in IBM's headquarters at Armonk or Somers in New York.
But when they want to talk about how the sprawling site itself works, those managers must stop at Walt Ling's office.
